Heather Tick has been working towards system transformation in healthcare and pain care for 30 years. She is the Gunn-Loke Endowed Professor of Integrative Pain Medicine at the University of Washington. As a Clinical Associate Professor in the Departments of Family Medicine, Anesthesia & Pain Medicine she teaches all levels of medical learners from medical students, to specialty residents and Pain Fellows. In the early 1990s she co-founded and directed an inter-professional, integrative pain clinic in Toronto. She has been an innovator in the use of integrative practices for pain and has worked with underserved populations and injured workers in Tucson Arizona and now Seattle Washington. She is the author of: HolisticPain Relief Life (now translated into Korean and Chinese) and is interested in expanding the reach of integrative medical practices.
