Counteracting the Effects of Environmental Toxins: Promoting Immunity and Stabilizing DNA

Session Description:

Our environment contains a multitude of chemical compounds from two hundred years of industrialization. As life expectancy has improved, our bodies are exposed to an ever greater number of compounds that enter our cells, weaken our immune systems and destabilize our DNA.  The result is inflammation, cancer, and other chronic diseases.

Dr. Mirko Beljanski was one of the first scientists to discover the direct link between environmental toxins and DNA damage. He demonstrated the destabilizing effect that carcinogens exert when they bind to DNA and found that this altered form of DNA was found in all cancer cells.  He went on to identify two plant extracts that specifically target destabilized DNA and thus help prevent the growth of cancer cells.  These extracts, Pao pereira and Rauwolfia vomitoria have been the subjects of extensive scientific research.

Dr. Beljanski also focused on the long term effects of environmental factors on the immune system. Of course, immunosuppression is also common among cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and in this context Beljanski discovered that a special preparation of small RNA fragments helped return white blood cell counts reduced by chemotherapy to normal levels.  These RNA fragments have been successfully used to restore white blood cell counts (neutrophils and platelets) in a clinical trial with advanced cancer patients taking a variety of chemo drugs.  They are also useful for maintaining healthy white blood cell levels in individuals with low counts.

Beljanski’s plant extracts and RNA fragments are powerful natural products that help provide protection from damaging elements in our environment as part of a holistic approach to wellness.

Learning Objectives:

  1. To learn about the effects of environmental toxins at the level of our immunity and our DNA
  2. To learn about natural ways to help counteract the effects of environmental toxins using natural plant extracts and RNA fragments
  3. To learn how these plant extracts can be used as part of a holistic approach to wellness

About the Speakers:

sylvieSylvie Beljanski is committed to continuing the Beljanski family legacy as international leaders in environmental medicine research. In 1996, she founded Natural Source International, Ltd., a company that offers science-based dietary supplements stemming from a lifetime of research in environmental medicine by her father, famed biochemist Mirko Beljanski, PhD.

Over the past two decades, Natural Source International Ltd. has expanded the original Beljanski® Products line to offer natural and high-quality products to fulfill the concept of holistic health.

johnJohn Hall, PhD, completed his undergraduate studies in Organic Chemistry at Columbia University, New York City. He graduated fellow at Princeton University, working in the Department of Biochemical Sciences, and he completed his PhD Degree at New York University, in the Department of Biochemistry. Dr. Hall was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rockefeller University, doing research in Cell Biology. He was promoted to the Faculty at Rockefeller in 1989, where his research focused on the microtubule-based mechanisms of cell motility and cell division.

Dr. Hall has served as an Executive and as a Consultant in the Biotechnology Industry and is currently the Director of Research at Nature Source International, Ltd. in New York City, which specializes in the Beljanski Products.
