Cutting Edge Treatments Using Stem Cells

12:00 PM – 1:30 PM | Saturday, February 23, 2019
Speaker: Alimored Farshchian MD
Location: Morgan Suite

Session DescriptionFarshchian’ talk presents current evidence on the properties of human derived mesenchymal stem cells, including origin, proliferative potential, plasticity, stability of cells and their viability, use of the MSC from basic science all the way to the clinical setting such as neurodegenerative disease and improve of immunomodulatory activity. A review of preclinical studies and clinical trials using this cell type is performed. Prospects for the use of mesenchymal stem cells, in cell transplantation are associated with the need for specialized collection of MSC and biobanking and transplant criteria.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to explain best practices.
  2. Participants will be able to explain case studies.
  3. Participants will be able to discuss cutting-edge protocols.
