Plant Based Magnesium: What Your Patients Need

Session Description: This program will dive into the underlying cause of magnesium deficiency; from poor consumption of plants to the poor health of our soil in the US. Fifty percent of patients are not consuming the proper amount of magnesium which can lead to multiple conditions.  The presenter will also review how plant-based magnesium can provide access to the CSF in an animal model verse other magnesium salts.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Participants will be able to identify patients that would benefit from additional magnesium.
  2. Participants will be able to define which type of patients would benefit from the plant-based magnesium.
  3. Participants will be able to understand the role of magnesium in brain health and overall health.

About The Speaker:

Dr. Christopher Bump DC, MS, IFMCP, CNS, DABCN has created a unique model of health care by integrating Functional Medicine and Chiropractic. He has over 30 years of experience in clinical nutrition and has earned numerous certifications and degrees along the way. He is a certified practitioner by the Institute for Functional Medicine and he holds a Master’s Degree from Columbia University in Human Nutrition, where he has served as guest lecturer.  He also holds certifications in clinical nutrition with the AMA College of Nutrition and The International and American Council of Clinical Nutrition and he has chaired the Council for Nutritional Education for the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors for the past 5 years. Dr Bump continues in private practice in Northern New Jersey, as well as lecturing internationally on clinical nutrition offering unique insight from a functional and structural perspective.
