This session offers an overview of peripheral vs. centralized pain and how pain presentations are unique to the individual. Clinicians will also learn how the Functional Medicine Timeline and Matrix tools can be employed to gather and organize clinical information factors that can underlie the progression of peripheral to centralized pain.

  1. 1. Recognize the process of how centralized pain syndromes develop and the factors that underlie the individual perception of pain
  2. 2. Recall the key metabolic factors that influence chronic pain states.
