In the integrative healthcare industry, there is a growing demand for health coaching in medical practice. Health coaches specialize in skillful conversation and strategies to actively and safely engage patients in health behavior change and can be an invaluable member of a care team. However, lack of regulation and consistent standards has led to confusion in terms of what different health coaches are qualified to do and how health coaches fit in to different models of practice.
During this panel discussion presented by Integrative Practitioner, editor Katherine Rushlau will host a lively dialogue featuring health coaches holding top certifications in the industry. The conversation will include an overview of the various health coach certifications and certifying bodies as well as how health coaching can be incorporated in patient care.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify several types of health coaches and their scope of practice, including how health coaches differ from registered nurse coaches.
