Going Beyond CBD: Exploring The Endocannabinoid System & Hemp Phytocannabinoids

Feb 20 2020
3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Americas II - Conference Room

One of the most important medical achievements in recent history has been the discovery of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) – an intricate network of receptors and signaling molecules (endocannabinoids) found in the brain, immune system and throughout the entire body. From a global perspective, the ECS is focused on maintaining overall health, balance and wellbeing (homeostasis) and may be viewed as a master adaptogenic system. At the organ level, research has demonstrated that the ECS is intimately involved in our metabolism, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal systems – essentially, all physiological functioning is influenced in one or more ways by the ECS. With CBD being highlighted over the past few years, it has been a shortsighted story and not the complete answer to supporting the ECS. This presentation provides a glimpse into this critically important and ignored physiological system, the importance of hemp phytocannabinoids and current findings in the literature. Be prepared to open your minds to the compelling and evolving story of the enormous health benefits of maintaining a healthy ECS using hemp extracts.
