Mary Loughran, MSN, RN, AHN-BC is an Adjunct Faculty member at New Rochelle campus at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York since 2018, teaching Holistic Nursing. Mary has more than 50 years of combined teaching, administration and research experiences in Rehabilitation and Holistic Nursing arenas. In addition, Mary has had a private holistic practice since 1997.
Mary’s credentials include Advanced Holistic Certification in Holistic Nursing, Guided Imagery, Wellness Coach, Polarity Therapy, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Reiki, Qi Gong, Hospice & Bereavement Counselor volunteer, Therapeutic Touch, Healing Touch, Foot Reflexology, Board Member of Creating Aging in Nyack, New York and one of the Virtual Facilitators for the Compassionate Caravan based in PA.
Mary’s research includes Guided Imagery/Polarity Therapy & Rumination Syndrome with Dr. Nader Youssef; Integrative Medicine sessions to decrease stress & pain with the Adult Cystic Fibrosis population & the use of Aromatherapy to decrease stress & pain on the Oncology units all of which occurred at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, New Jersey.
In addition, in 2019, Mary Loughran & Dr. Dorothy Larkin created a grant from Mercy College entitled “Holistic Nursing Faculty Supporting Nurses and Nursing Students on the Front Line of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The results of this research was published in the October 2020/Vol 4 Number 5 AHNA Beginnings entitled: “Holistic Nursing Faculty Supporting Nurses and Nursing Students on the Front Line of the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
Mary loves nature, dancing, plays, concerts, sailing and having fun playing board games with her three grandchildren.
