About The Speakers:
Jesmond Dalli, PhD is a Reader in Molecular Medicine at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and Queen Mary College. He is also a Sir Henry Dale Fellow and the Director of the Lipid Mediator Unit at the William Harvey Research Institute. He received a B.Sc (Hons) in chemistry and biology and an M.Sc in biology from the University of Malta. He then read for and completed a Ph.D at the William Harvey Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London with Prof. Mauro Perretti. Dr. Dalli then moved to Prof. Charles N. Serhan’s laboratory at Harvard Medical school and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he held the position of Instructor. He was also the co-director with Prof. Serhan of two NIH funded lipid mediator metabololipidomics cores. He published over 80 peer-reviewed publications including publications in Nature Medicine, Immunity and Science Translation Medicine.
Carl Germano, RD, CNS, CDN is a registered, certified/licensed clinical nutritionist presently appointed to the NY State Board of Dietetics and Nutrition and a frequent radio guest and lecturer. He holds a masters degree in clinical nutrition from New York University and has over 30 years experience using innovative, complementary nutritional therapies in private practice and in product development. For the past 25 years, he has dedicated his efforts to research and product development for the nutritional industries (dietary supplements, functional beverages, medical foods), where he has been instrumental in bringing cutting-edge nutritional substances and formulations to market. Today, he continues his efforts in product development and research and is responsible for providing the industry with the next generation of clinically important nutraceutical ingredients. In addition, he is the author of the best selling books: Nucleotides: The Buliding Blocks To Optimal Health, SOD/Gliadin: The Ultimate Cellular Defense Against Ageing and Disease, Natures Pain Killers, The Osteoporosis Solution, The Brain Wellness Plan, Rhodiola rosea: Natures Answer To Stress, and Advantra Z: The Natural Way To Weight Loss. Born in the remote wilds of the Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine, Dr. Slavko Komarnytsky is the Assistant Professor of Pharmacogenomics at the Plants for Human Health Institute, N.C. State University, and Director of the Life Habit Center for Biodiscovery. Komarnytsky received a B.S. in biology and M.S. in cell biology from Kyiv Shevchenko University in 1998. He earned his Ph.D. in cell and molecular plant biology in 2004 and held research appointments in metabolism and nutrition at Rutgers University prior to joining the food science faculty at N.C. State University in 2011. His primary scientific interests have been in how dietary bioactive components prevent chronic metabolic diseases and inflammation, with a specific emphasis on the pathological mechanisms of insulin resistance and muscle loss. His scholarly work has set trends in biodiscovery from natural sources and engagement of students and ethnic communities in global health research. He has authored over 40 major scientific publications and gained broad support from government agencies and industry sponsors.
Dr. Jay Lombard, DO is an internationally acclaimed neurologist, author, and keynote speaker who creates solutions for brain health and intractable neurological disorders. Dr. Lombard integrates biological, psychological, and existential components in his holistic treatment approach. He is the co-founder and creator of Gnomon, a medicine company utilizing genetic testing to improve neuropsychiatric conditions, including Alzheimer’s, Autism, and Depression. Founder of Timed, Jay Walker, describes Dr. Lombard as “part Freud, part Sherlock Holmes.” Dr. Lombard’s discoveries have been regarded by key opinion leaders as fundamentally shifting the paradigm of psychiatric medicine. His newest book, The Mind of God, explores the relationship between neuroscience and faith, and is set for release June 13th, 2018.
Dr. Jennifer Stagg is a practicing naturopathic physician and is the founder and medical director of Whole Health Wellness Center in Connecticut. Dr. Stagg is also the author of Unzip Your Genes and is routinely interviewed and appears as an expert guest in the media on the topic of nutrigenomics. She has always been passionate about science and health and started out as a doctoral student in Biochemistry at the University of Iowa. Dr. Stagg is the former director of the USDA – Agricultural Research Service Medicinal Botanical Program at Mountain State University. She also serves on medical advisory boards and is an industry consultant. Dr. Stagg is a well known authority in precision lifestyle medicine, a medical educator and sought after speaker and has appeared on NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX.
John Troup, PhD is a dynamic and innovative leader in the healthcare, nutrition and personal products categories. He is the Vice President of Clinical Science and Education & Innovation at Standard Process. Dr. Troup is responsible for providing leadership and direction for new product development and scientific validation of products and practices and significant education advances for clinicians and patients.
