2020 Continuing Education

 

The Integrative Healthcare Symposium offered healthcare professionals the opportunity to earn continuing education credits through three days of in-person, multi-disciplinary learning. 

Credits made available during the 2020 event are listed below.

It is the responsibility of the attendee to adhere to the CME/CNE/CE requirements of his/her state licensing board and to ensure these credits will be approved before registering for the conference*. IHS cannot provide this information to attendees.  The Integrative Healthcare Symposium does not work directly with specific boards.

*Changes or additions to accreditation made after the conference may incur an administrative fee.

Course Approval

The total number of approved continuing education credits is determined by the individual educational provider. Please thoroughly review the information below for total approved credits by discipline.

Medical Doctors, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Pri-Med Institute and Integrative Healthcare Symposium. Pri-Med Institute is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Pri-Med Institute designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

All 6 approved sessions are clearly marked on the Schedule as CME APPROVED and are located in Grand Ballroom West.

  • This evaluation will be available beginning Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 5:00pm and closes April 1, 2020.

  • Once you complete the online evaluation, you will be sent a copy of the Certificate via email to the address provided at registration. The Certificate will arrive within two weeks of the survey completion. You can then submit the Certificate to your state board.

Nurses and Nurse Practitioners

This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Approved to award 34.5 contact hours through February 16, 2022.

Approval for contact hours through the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) is based on an assessment of the educational merit of this program and does not constitute endorsement of the use of any specific modality in the care of clients.

Dietitians and Nutritionists

Courses at the 2020 Integrative Healthcare Symposium are approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration for CPEU’s (Continuing Professional Education Units) for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN™) or Registered Dietitians (RD™); Nutrition and Dietetics Technicians, Registered (NDTR™) or Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTR™); and Board Certified Specialists in Nutrition and Dietetics.

This live activity is approved for 18 CPEUs/hours from CDR (Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Credentialing Agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) and an additional 3 hours of exhibit time to view posters. CPEU is level 1 & level 2.

Continuing education credit (CE) for Doctors of Chiropractic is approved by New York Chiropractic College (NYCC).  ONLY the following states have credit:   CO, CT, DE, DC, ID, IL, IN, IA, MA, MD, MS, MT, NE, ND, NJ, OH, OR, RI, SC, UT, VT, VA, WA, WY

Acupuncturists and Practitioners of Traditional Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture/Oriental Medicine Continuing Education Units/Professional Activity Development Points are sponsored by Pacific College of Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine – NCCAOM®.

Integrative Healthcare Symposium conference sessions have been approved and will include a maximum of 14 PDA/CEUs (Professional Development Activity) points in the AOM-BIO category from National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
