Contemplative medicine is an evidence-informed, wholehearted, and fundamentally relational approach to healthcare. Its application prioritizes compassionate care and the alleviation of suffering through a deep integration of the three inseparable dimensions of your “one life” – clinical, interpersonal, and personal. Grounded in a contemplative practice, it nurtures greater intimacy, connection, and awareness – within oneself and between one another, and with the greater whole – fostering the conditions for practitioners to develop revitalizing care partnerships while reducing feelings of burnout, emotional exhaustion, and depersonalization.
Session Learning Objectives:
1.) Participants will be able to name their personal values within medicine, and identify alignment or misalignment of those values within their current practice context.
2.) Participants will refine their understanding of work-life integration and its importance in promoting personal well-being, interpersonal connections, and clinical satisfaction.
3.) Participants will be able to identify the core relationships to foster and build upon for resilience to burnout and overwhelm.
