Historically, the Symposium recognized pioneers in the industry through a Leadership and Visionary Award. For the 20th anniversary, the team changed things up. Instead of looking back, we’re looking ahead: Who are the pioneers of the next 20 years?

The Symposium team collaborated with Dr. Victoria Maizes, the Founding Executive Director of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine (AWCIM) and Professor of Medicine, Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of Arizona. Internationally recognized as a leader in integrative medicine, Dr. Maizes fuses 24+ years of experience in developing, scaling, and leading innovative educational programs to deliver excellent outcomes. She stewarded AWCIM’s growth from a small program educating four fellows per year to a profitable Center training more than 1000 fellows, residents, and other health professionals annually. For our 2025 event, she will take the stage to recognize an emerging leader that is pushing the industry forward and transforming the way we think about healing, community and the medicines that surround us.
