Plenary: Medicine for All People: Ancient Wisdom for Revolutionary Healing

Feb 22 2025

8:30 AM - 9:30 AM EDT

Grand Ballroom East

Food, plants, dance, and community have been at the heart of healing practices across cultures for centuries. This talk delves into how these ancient tools can serve as revolutionary medicine in modern times, fostering health and well-being for individuals and communities alike.

We explore how food and plants can be used as powerful medicines to nourish the body and soul, reconnecting us to the land and the wisdom of our ancestors. We discover the transformative power of dance as a healing practice that strengthens the body, uplifts the spirit, and fosters connection and how the power of community creates spaces for collective resilience and equitable access to wellness.

You are invited to reimagine healing as a shared journey—rooted in the wisdom of the past and thriving in the collective strength of the present.

Session Learning Objectives:

1.) Learn how ancient practices can complement modern medical approaches to address health inequities.

2.) Discuss practical tools and techniques, such as food as medicine, movement, community, and herbal remedies,  for creating personalized, inclusive care plans.

3.) Examine the role of healing practices in fostering resilience and health equity, especially for marginalized communities.
