Usefulness of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine for Post-COVID Pandemic Healthcare Challenges

Backed by a growing evidence base acupuncture has gone mainstream, but how does that apply to the types of conditions that predominate the US healthcare landscape in the post-pandemic era? Pain, mental health, addiction, and long-hauler syndrome are difficult conditions to treat with conventional approaches. This presentation will discuss the role of acupuncture in treating these conditions, and how to refer and comanage patients receiving acupuncture and associated therapies like Chinese herbal medicine.

  1.  Identify the evidence base for acupuncture treatment of pain, mental health, addiction and COVID long-hauler syndrome
  2.  Identify ways to determine a good acupuncture referral
