Elizabeth Monson, MA, MS, NP

Elizabeth (Liz) Monson has 25 years experience as a nurse practitioner and 18 years experience chasing her passion for integrative medicine. She currently works in clinical practice with the Cardiac Transplant Team at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah and serves on the Integrative Medicine Steering Committee while also a Fellow at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. She received an additional degree in Applied Healing Arts through Maryland University of Integrative Health. She is a certified Clinical Acupressure Therapist, Reiki Master, and yoga instructor. Elizabeth has initiated integrative healing arts programs at hospitals in Maryland, Oregon, and Utah and conducted research as a principal investigator at these institutions focused on patient, provider, and hospital outcomes with integrative therapies. She has been published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Nurse Practitioners and Journal of Integrative and Complementary Medicine. Elizabeth has presented research findings at national conferences for American Holistic Nurses Association, Critical Care Symposium and Patient Experience Conference at Cleveland Clinic featuring acupressure as intervention for Code Lavender, a rapid response team to address emotional impact of traumatic events. She has served on the Board of Directors for Soul Lightening International, a non-profit focused on acupressure education, for 10 years. Her most recent project is 5 Points, 5 Minutes using acupressure to address the top 10 ICD codes with acute pain services at Intermountain Medical Center. She is a mom, a hiker, a reader, a theater fan, and a chocolate connoisseur.
